Malta
Wake Show
29 Oct – 1 Nov 2026The first cable wakeboarding event of its kind in Malta. World champions and pro riders compete on a cable park built into the canal at Dock No.1, then the water opens to the public.
Pro riders. One canal. The whole island watching.
Malta Wake Show brings wakeboarding into the Three Cities. Riders launch off kickers and grind sliders in the water of Dock No.1 while spectators line both canal walls. Between heats the canal opens for public ride sessions, and when the light goes the Red Bull stage takes over.
The setting is made for the camera: international riders against the old dockyard of the Three Cities, across the Grand Harbour from Valletta. The show is filmed and shared for visitors and audiences abroad, putting Malta on the map as a wake destination.
Dock No.1, CospicuaIt's also the first look at something bigger: a permanent cable wake park for Malta.

No boat.
Just a cable.
In cable wakeboarding, the rider is towed by an overhead cable strung between towers instead of a boat. The cable pulls at a steady speed along a fixed line, so riders can set up for every kicker and slider, run after run. It's quieter, cleaner and easier to learn than boat riding, which is why cable parks are where most people try wakeboarding for the first time.
Grab the handle
Riders start from the dock. The handle hangs from the cable above, and the pull starts as soon as they're ready.
Ride the line
The cable carries the rider down the canal past the crowd on both walls, close enough to hear the board on the water.
Hit the features
Kickers send riders into spins and flips. Sliders let them grind across the water. Pros compete on them; the public tries them too.
A first for Malta
No cable wakeboarding event of this kind has been held on the island before.
In a historic dock
The cable runs through the canal at Dock No.1 in Cospicua, framed by the old dockyard buildings.
Open to everyone
Between heats, visitors can ride the same cable as the pros, with gear provided.
